La Marinade, Sainte-Marie la mer's signature race
2023 will be the occasion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this beautiful race. It starts from Place Agora, on the Sainte-Marie waterfront.
Each year, it supports a number of associations, including "Courires 66", "Vaincre la Mucoviscidose" and "Petit cœur de beurre" for the 2022 edition. Thanks to its many volunteers and spectators, the race offers a warm and festive atmosphere, whether at the refreshment points or along the race route.
You can find this race every year on August 14th at the heart of 3 days of festivities in Sainte Marie la Mer.
La Marinade in practice
The race starts at the end of the day at 7 p.m.
The course is 10km long and can accommodate up to 1,000 people. There's an official website to sign up, and adults are required to pay a registration fee.
On social networks, there's a dedicated #runlamarinade. You can also buy a range of goodies bearing the race's logo at the tourist office, to keep it going all year round.
In 2022, it was the 1st edition of the Marinade "Défi Kids". The Marinade team proposed a 100% challenge for children aged 6 to 13, with a festive morning of sports games: precision, endurance, atmosphere and surprises!
The Marinade trail, a permanent course to prepare for the race
As you may have gathered, the Marinade aims to promote running in both natural and urban environments. It's been proven that running offers many benefits, especially if done regularly!
In Sainte Marie, the Marinade trail is a 10km run that's ideal for keeping fit, whether you're a holidaymaker or a local resident.
It's a great way to discover or re-discover the resort's major points of interest, including the port, the old beach, the water tower, the Bourdigou and the Lido garden.
